The programme has been designed to deliver a state-of-the-art education experience to its students. The module selection reflects the most recent trends in the theory and practice of Accounting and Finance. The structure and content of the programme covers the majority of requirements for most sought-after accreditations, such as ACCA, CFA, ICAEW, or CIMA, that the Department wishes to secure for the BSc in Accounting and Finance.
If a student fails to pass a module, she or he will have the opportunity for a repeat assessment during the resit assessment period of the following September. If a student fails again at the resit assessment, they will be asked to repeat the module along with any financial implications that this may have. Students who fail to complete their studies in four years will be granted with an extension of up to 4 more years. After the end of the 8th academic year, students will be automatically unregistered from the course. Exemptions will be considered by the programme committee if there are valid extenuating circumstances.
Disabilities and Assessments
If you have a disability or require special arrangements during assessments, you need to inform the Secretariat of the Department in written form, attaching documentation translated into English from a certified translator where your condition or diagnosis is confirmed by a healthcare professional (signed and stamped). The Secretariat will inform module instructors about your condition and, where necessary, modified assessment provisions will be set in place. Strict confidentiality will be observed with regards to your sensitive data.
